Augusta is ready & waiting
The Masters returns this week, aside from the usual favourites like Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth we think there are some 'dark horse' picks to look out for at Augusta...
We played our first Major of the season and as befits a Major competition the course was set up tough with some tricky pin positions and the tee markers pushed right back, there was also a swirly wind blowing to fully test our competitors in the Inaugural Trophy.
The best score on the day was from Gary Grogan with a level par nett 69 so he becomes a major champion for the first time, Gary will be a popular winner as he plays in all the competitions and he didn't quite get all of his usual shots on Saturday due to the 28 handicap limit - but this didn't stop him gaining his first honours boards victory, we're sure he was celebrating hard on Saturday evening!
Next best score was from Alan Tayler just one shot back on nett 70, whilst Gary Cashmore returned a nett 71, which was best score in division one.
Look out for the knockout draws here and please remember to pay your entry fee in the pro-shop before you play your first match.
The May Medal is the next competition on Saturday starting at 11am.
